Private car producer Bam Khodro has recently launched a production line for China’s Geely GC6 sedan in the city of Bam in Kerman province, Iran, according a report from Financial Tribune.

The production line for GC6 was previously announced to be ready in June, but Bam Khodro managed to advance the launch date. It expects to start pre-sales next month with complete model scheduled to be available in the summer.

Bam Khodro signed the representation deal with Geely for producing vehicles in March, after the model was displayed at the Shiraz Auto Expo in July last year.

The agreement will make GC6 the first locally-assembled Geely offered in the local market. The car is expected to be priced at 500 million rials, equal to U$13,000.

The GC6 model is an international variant of the popular Geely MK which was introduced in the mainland Chinese market in 2006.

The car comes with 1.5 and 1.6 liter engines in those markets.
